claire rousay and Martyna Basta have released a new collaborative album through Unsound's in-house label.
Spanning six tracks, hotel room has its roots in a residency by the two artists at the 2023 Kraków edition of Unsound. The two artists met for the residency and exchanged ideas that birthed the record, which takes in three long-form pieces and three shorter cuts. From there, they worked in isolation with the drafts they had made, before rousay handled the final mixdown of the material for the album.
Speaking about the lengths of the tracks that they made, Basta said: "It wasn’t something we specifically planned. It just unfolded that way."
